Chris Koras, the head of baseball for Klutch Sports Group, abruptly resigned last week, according to three industry sources. Koras joined Klutch in December of 2023, when it acquired Rep 1 Baseball, where Koras served as CEO.
Klutch’s list of clients includes Rafael Devers, Devin Williams, Andrés Giménez, Gabriel Moreno, Starling Marte, Freddy Peralta and Leody Tavares.
Klutch is expected to continue normal baseball operations in Koras’ absence. The agency declined to comment on personnel matters. Koras did not respond to requests for comment.
The Athletic reported in July that Koras was mentioned in a grievance involving Philadelphia Phillies player Johan Rojas, who accused his former agent, Yasser Mendez, of financial misconduct related to investments Mendez solicited for a baseball academy.
Mendez was employed by Koras at Rep 1 Baseball, which is also listed in the grievance, at the time of the transactions. Koras didn’t respond to messages seeking comment at the time. Jon R. Fetterolf, a lawyer for Klutch, said in an emailed statement: “Neither Klutch nor any of its employees had knowledge of the alleged conduct described in this article, said to have occurred long before the individual at issue was employed by Klutch.”
Mendez was terminated in 2024, according to Klutch.
Klutch Sports Group was founded by sports agent and chief executive officer Rich Paul and has athletes in the NBA, NFL and WNBA.
