EXCLUSIVE: Teton Ridge Entertainment has secured the rights to the Lauren Larson-written Texas Monthly article titled “A Rodeo Doctor Fixes Much More Than Broken Bones” to be adapted for TV with Will Packer Media producing.

The rodeo doctor is orthopedic surgeon Dr. Tandy Freeman, the medical director of the Professional Bull Riders and Justin Sportsmedicine team. Freeman will be consulting on the project, which will be a propulsive character-driven medical drama that explores the challenges of an elite doctor working in the high-octane world of rodeo.

Teton Ridge Entertainment president Jillian Share and EVP Jen Gorton will executive produce alongside Will Packer and Sabrina Wind for Will Packer Media and Texas Monthly’s Megan Creydt and Scott Brown. Teton Ridge Entertainment’s Katie Myers and Will Packer Media’s Jack Dudley will serve as development executives.

“Through the work of this medical team, we’re invited into the intersecting worlds of the high-stakes rodeo circuit, elite sports, and modern medicine. Seen through Tandy’s perspective, we will journey past the grit and bravado of the cowboy community to uncover the profound relationships doctors forge with the sport’s top athletes, through a blend of raw adrenaline and deep emotion,” said Share.

“Given Teton Ridge’s direct connection to the western sports community, we understand this world firsthand and are uniquely suited to do it justice,” she added.
