On March 23, Usher’s diamond-selling magnum opus “Confessions” turned 20 years old. I clearly remember the keenness surrounding the discharge of this album in 2004. “Yes!” the performance with Lil Jon and Ludacris was a monster record within the clubs, and the video was featured on all of the countdown shows like MTV’s “TRL” and BET’s “106 & Park” when each shows were popular. According to MTV, “Yes!” was probably the most streamed song of 2004, and it actually was. No one complained, the song was and still is great and jogs my memory of a time in my life that was free from fantasy and filled with possibility.
