1. Evan Thomas Peters was born on Jan. 20, 1987, in St. Louis to Julie and Phillip Peters, a vice president of administration for the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, created in 1926 to promote a just, equitable and sustainable society.

2. When his family moved to Flint, Mich., Evan started his acting career with the Flint Youth Theater. At age 15, he moved to LA with his mom to pursue a career — and to meet the Olsen twins! “They were 15, I was 15 … the acting thing seemed like the best way,” he told MLive. He may not have met them, but he acted with their sister, Elizabeth Olsen, in the 2021 miniseries WandaVision.

3. Evan went to Burbank High and was classmates with Gossip Girl star Blake Lively. “She was one of the hot, popular girls,” he told Hero Magazine.

4. He had small roles, then got his big break in 2011, playing tragic teen Tate Langdon in the first season of the FX series American Horror Story.

5. His early work included commercials for Sour Patch Kids, Corn Pops and PlayStation. “They don’t give you anything,” Evan recalled to W Magazine. “I thought I was gonna get Sour Patch Kids and a PlayStation. But I did like shooting them. I thought they were fun.”

6. While shooting a scene in American Horror Story: Asylum in 2012, Evan accidentally flashed costar Jessica Lange when he didn’t correctly put on a covering for his genitals!

7. Evan has “Mom” tattooed on his arm and a “thumbs up” sign on his hand, but regrets getting them because he has to cover them with makeup when he works.

8. Evan became known to fans outside the AHS sphere in the 2022 miniseries Monster, in which he played cannibal serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. “Honestly, I was very scared about all of the things that he did, and diving into that and trying to commit to that was absolutely going to be one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do in my life, because I wanted it to be very authentic,” Evans shares according to Hypebae. “But in order to do that, I was gonna have to go to really dark places and stay there for an extended period of time.”

9. While known for his “creepy” roles, Evan confides to Nylon, “I like comedy as well. Comedy and being silly and funny comes naturally to me.”

10. Evan is a distant cousin of Smallville star Tom Welling and his actor brother, Mark Welling.
