EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – It’s not just the volunteers at the more than 130 food booths who are cashing in at the west side nut club fall festival – the people offering parking sports are also raising money.
There are several places around Franklin street offering people a place to park with many being manned by local non-profits and groups.
One of them is Hope Dot Com, “Helping Overwhelmed People Everywhere,” who aim to bring “hope to the hopeless.”
Hope Dot Com volunteers says they’ve been doing this for 4 years, it’s their biggest fundraiser and helps them feed the homeless..
“It helps offset cost at the resource center, and it helps us with Christmas for the homeless children, so it’s just amazing time for us to get proceeds, a bonus of proceeds coming in,” CEO Cathy Myers says.
You can find them off north St. Joe near the Chicken stop.
It’s costs five dollars to park there.
