TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – The Sports Center Topeka is looking to expand and bring a full-service hitting range to the Capital City.

The center is in the process of building a two-story golf setup of 40 bays, 20 on each level.

Each bay will have tracking technology to monitor swings.

A range will also have a full-service kitchen, serving dishes to each bay.

The Sports Center expects the range to be ready by the middle of 2026.

“There’s a big need for it in Topeka,” said Kurt Walker, Sports Center Topeka owner. “The nightlife has kind of disappeared since COVID, so we’re trying to bring that back. We’ve been here for 50 years, so we’re trying to update it and revamp it. We’re really excited, we can’t wait.”

The center also has putt-putt courses, go karts, and batting cages.

The Sports Center Topeka is located at 6545 Southwest 10th Street, just west of Wanamaker Road.
