EXCLUSIVE: Magilla Entertainment, the company behind long-running Discovery franchise Moonshiners, is staffing up.
The company has hired Kevin Duncan as Chief Development Officer. Duncan joins from Bright North, the production company previously known as Efran Films before it was acquired by Redbird IMI.
It comes as Magilla has landed a couple of new series including Peacock reality series O’ahu Shores and Investigation Discovery’s Who Hired the Hitman?.
At Bright North, Duncan developed series such as Ranchland Listings for Prime Video, Everything on the Menu with Braun Strowman for USA Network as well as The CW’s TV We Love and Paramount+’s PD True. He spent nearly three years at the company.
Before that he worked at Brent Montgomery’s Wheelhouse on series such as Netflix’s King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch, Hulu’s Secret Chef and High Hopes, ESPN’s 30 for 30: Once Upon a Time in Queens and Paramount+’s Nothin’ but a Good Time. He was also at ITV America, working on Netflix’s Queer Eye, History’s Alone and Forged in Fire and Love Island USA.

He will report to Magilla Co-Founders Laura Palumbo-Johnson and Matthew Ostrom and President Jason Fox.
