The wait to find out who will be the first star to be cast out from Claudia’s round table on Celebrity Traitors tonight (Wednesday 15th) has been torture for the show’s fans, following that humdinger of a cliffhanger at the end of episode two.
Viewers were left reeling at the end of the first week when round-table discussions were in full swing and the vote was a tie breaker between Kate Garraway and Niko Omilana who picked up three votes each, while Tameka Empson and Tom Daley also received at least one vote.
Cruelly, it finished just before revealing who would be banished. How rude!
Unlike the civilian version, the celebrity spin-off airs only two nights per week, leaving an agonising wait between episodes. Kate and Niko are the two choices most likely for the axe, with Niko closest to the blade.
But a Celebrity Traitors Stan account (yes they’ve started up and we love it) has invented, wait for it, a Celebrity Traitors Simulator that they claim can pinpoint who is most likely to win the game and who is most likely to lose. And it is wild.
According to Traitorlytics (we see what you did there), they provide analysis of the hit BBC show. It says on a post to its 1,094 X/Twitter followers: ‘I built a simulator to predict who will win #TheTraitors. I simulate the remaining game 5,000 times after each episode and tell you how likely each player is to win. Last night I simulated Celebrity Traitors 5,000 times – here’s how often each player won.’
The graph that pops up shows that the traitors Jonathan Ross and Alan Carr are leading as being the most likely to win with 22.6% and 17.6% of the vote share respectively.
Poor Celia Imrie languishes at the bottom with a teeny 1.6% chance.
That blows the current odds out the water. Nick Mohammed was the pre-show favourite and is still high among the frontrunners. The machine also breaks down how people leave, with Niko and Kate 50/50 to be banished on Wednesday coming in with 62% and 79% share respectively. That makes Kate the most likely banishing, against both the bookies’ prediction and Digital Spy‘s, and actually puts Cat at 2nd place with 70.8% likelihood.
It’s not clear from the post whether that means banishment tonight, though, or ever.
Meanwhile, the simulator predicts Stephen Fry, Celia and Mark as leading the board as the top murder targets.
Now, just to be clear Digital Spy is not for one second endorsing this theory. We don’t know how these results were achieved, as Traitorlytics doesn’t explain their methodology.
For all we know it could be a person using AI, or an algorithm of their own devising, or just throwing darts at a wall. Or a rogue Twitterbot enjoying its own perplexing trajectory.
It’s just a bit of fun we found on the internet and we like to share the laughter here.
So watch tonight on BBC One and let’s see who turns out to be right!
