Angelina Jolie is putting behind her for good, and it’s likely why she’s reportedly set a new standard for herself when it comes to dating.

The 50-year-old actress is open to romance, but it isn’t a top priority, according to Us Weekly. “People try to set Angelina up all the time, but she has a lot on her plate right now,” an insider told the media outlet. Still, there is one fresh rule that her friends now know. Jolie has “no interest” in having a relationship with any celebrity in the future.

Jolie’s track record with fellow actors isn’t great, so it’s easy to understand why she’s put up a boundary with Hollywood’s famous faces. She was married to The Crown star Jonny Lee Miller from 1996 to 2000, Landman actor Billy Bob Thornton from 2000 to 2003, and Pitt from 2014 to 2019. Actors dating actors is not the right romance recipe for her.

A second source added, “If she meets someone along the way that she wholeheartedly connects with, someone who understands her, she’ll be open to [a relationship].” Jolie is reportedly eyeing a move out of the country once her youngest children, 17-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, graduate high school, so her next paramour might be something more international — but she’s still going to be cautious.

“She’s impossibly picky and has all sorts of baggage from the Brad situation. Plus, she’s so paranoid and intense,” an insider told In Touch Weekly in April 2024 after her move to New York City. “It’s very hard for her to let down her guard with anyone. It’s more like she’s interviewing them for a job. And when she does find a guy she likes, she has a long list of rules and NDAs for them to sign, which is not how people roll.”

For now, Jolie is prioritizing the desire to kick her career back into high gear. Jolie is in London shooting a Netflix film, Anxious People, and she has her son, Maddox, 24, by her side as an assistant director. She also wants to leverage her directorial experience from movies like Unbroken and First They Killed My Father into other projects. She’s booked and busy!

Still, there’s time for her bestie, Salma Hayek, who was spotted on a commercial flight t in mid-July, flying from Mexico City to Veracruz, Mexico. “Salma’s been her rock,” a source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack. “They talk every day. They travel together. Their kids hang out. They trust each other completely. They’re not Hollywood friends. They’re real friends — chosen family.”

A Hollywood romance may not be on Jolie’s radar, but an A-list BFF is.
