Bethesda announced anniversary editions for Fallout 4 and New Vegas along with next-generation console ports during its annual Fallout Day broadcast

Celebrating a decade of post-apocalyptic adventure

Bethesda Game Studios marked its annual Fallout Day celebration with a broadcast packed with announcements for franchise enthusiasts, headlined by the upcoming Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition. The special release arrives perfectly timed to commemorate the game’s 10th anniversary next month, bringing substantial new content to both longtime fans and newcomers exploring the wasteland for the first time.

The Anniversary Edition packages an impressive amount of material, featuring 150 pieces of Creation Club content alongside the six official expansion packs that have released since the game launched. The Creations feature will open additional avenues for console and PC players to discover even more community-made content, significantly expanding what’s available beyond the base game and official downloadable content.

Multiple platforms get the anniversary treatment

Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition launches on November 10 across an extensive range of platforms including Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC. This broad release ensures players can experience the enhanced version regardless of which gaming system they prefer. Bethesda structured the launch to accommodate existing owners as well, offering an Anniversary Upgrade available across all platforms for those who already possess the base game.

Subscription service members will find particular value in this release. Both Game Pass and PlayStation Plus subscribers will gain access to the downloadable content and Creations offerings, providing significant value for those already paying monthly fees for their respective services. Looking further ahead, Bethesda confirmed that Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition will receive a port to Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2 console sometime during 2026, extending the game’s reach to portable gaming enthusiasts.

New Vegas gets the collector’s treatment

While Fallout 4 receives the digital enhancement approach, Fallout New Vegas is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a more traditional collector’s bundle exclusive to PC players. Bethesda’s Gear Store began accepting preorders on October 23 for this special package, which combines digital content with physical collectibles designed to appeal to dedicated franchise followers.

The bundle includes a digital code for Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition, ensuring players have access to the complete game experience. Physical items in the package feature an eight-inch PVC statue of Victor, Doc Mitchell’s Evaluation Cards, a Vault Boy enamel pin, a Mojave Express patch and an NCR Recon patch. All items come packaged in a specially designed collector’s big box meant for display. While some fans hoped for a modern remaster similar to what actor Danny Trejo has publicly advocated for, this anniversary bundle offers tangible memorabilia for collectors.

Current generation consoles finally get Fallout 76

Bethesda announced that Fallout 76 will graduate to current generation hardware with new ports specifically optimized for Xbox Series X and S along with PlayStation 5, scheduled for early 2026. The move brings the online multiplayer experience to modern consoles with enhancements that take advantage of improved processing power and faster loading times. Players still using PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems won’t be left behind, as those versions will receive optimization updates as well.

Before the next-generation ports arrive, Fallout 76 is getting the Burning Springs update on December 2. This expansion brings an exciting crossover element by incorporating Walton Goggins, who portrayed The Ghoul in the popular Fallout television series. His character will provide players with opportunities to take on bounty hunter missions, creating a direct connection between the streaming show and the gaming experience that should appeal to fans of both mediums.

Mobile and community celebrations continue

The mobile game Fallout Shelter is introducing Seasons, a new feature that creates limited-time Vaults separate from players’ original establishments. Each Season will carry its own unique theme while offering fresh rewards and challenges for mobile gamers to pursue. This update keeps the mobile experience evolving years after the game’s initial release.

For fans residing in Texas, the state’s hockey community is getting involved in the celebrations. The Texas Stars of the American Hockey League will host its second annual Fallout Night on Saturday, October 25 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. The event promises Fallout cosplayers available for photo opportunities alongside themed concessions and exclusive collectibles for purchase, bringing the gaming franchise into the sports arena in a unique crossover event.
