Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase” – Martin Luther King Jr.

On September 25, 2025 former FBI Director James Comey (who is one of President Donald Trump’s political adversaries) was indicted by a grand jury for alleged crimes related to obstruction of justice in connection with a congressional proceeding and making false statements. After his indictment, Comey took to social media to proclaim his innocence and also to encourage his supporters to “keep the faith”In his social media post, Comey also shared with his supporters that he and his family knew that there would be a cost to standing up to President Trump, but that they couldn’t imagine themselves living any other way.

During Comey’s first court appearance on October 8, 2025, he pleaded not guilty to federal charges, and his attorney said that they would be seeking to have the case dismissed for vindictive and selective prosecution.

Biblically, faith is defined as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1, NKJV).  Hence, to have faith is to have a strong, unshakeable belief or trust in someone or something even if there is no absolute proof of evidence at that moment.

Life is full of twists, turns and unexpected hardships that can indeed challenge our faith. These life challenges can be related to one’s political affiliation, political conflicts, false accusations, revenge, medical conditions, or perhaps the unexpected death of a loved one. Nonetheless, the hope for a brighter tomorrow lies in choosing not to give up.

On Morning Energy, we are going to spend time exploring the value of keeping the faith as it relates to so many different areas of our lives even if that faith involves: blind faithstubborn faith or mustard seed faith. During this week’s program we are also going to remain hopeful that our beloved WMNF listeners will faithfully continue to support this program and this station during our fall membership drive.

Join me, Renna on Friday from 4am-6am for a very special musical journey about this very inspiring and intriguing topic. And if you miss the live program, you can always listen to the weekly program for up to 7 days on the archives at https://www.wmnf.org/events/morning-energy/.
