“Both of them have different paths they want to take, but music will always be part of their lives,” Kevin added, “whether it’s production, sound design for films, whatever. They have a foundation now, something solid they built themselves.”

But despite the Federline boys being “friends since they were little, facing life’s challenges as a team,” they also have distinguished personalities. 

“Preston is my thinker and deep feeler, a steady calm presence with a sharp creative mind and a love for music,” Kevin noted, contrasting him with Jayden, who he called a “firecracker, bold, expressive, and brimming with creative energy. As a kid, he’d roar like a dinosaur or mimic sound effects with uncanny precision, and now that charisma fuels his passion for music.”

And while Kevin emphasized that Preston and Jayden had a “transformative” experience in Hawaii, Jayden has already returned to Los Angeles to get serious about his music career. 

“Jayden has already returned to L.A., chasing his music dreams,” Kevin shared. “Preston is finding his way as an adult. Watching both of them grow into themselves has filled me with pride. We’ve done everything we could to prepare them for life, and I know they’re ready.”

Elsewhere in his book, Kevin expanded on his sons’ challenging relationship with their mother, sharing that they were often too scared to even stay at her home. However, the DJ said that both Preston and Jayden remained close with Britney’s siblings Jamie Lynn Spears and especially brother Bryan Spears, adding, “It made me happy to see that there was a good connection there, and came at a time when they really needed it.”

In response to the claims Kevin made in his upcoming book, a rep for Britney said in a statement to E! News Oct. 14 that “once again he and others are profiting off her and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin.”

“All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James and their well-being during this sensationalism,” the rep noted. “She detailed her journey in her memoir [The Woman in Me].”
