I love scary movies, but I’ll be honest, I’ve never actually made it through the entire film of The Exorcist without covering my eyes. There’s just something about spinning heads and really creepy voices that makes me want to hide under a blanket until the credits roll. Maybe this Halloween, I’ll finally try again, especially since I now have my giant cat, Meatball, to protect me.

In the meantime, though, I’ll stick to something a little less terrifying and a lot more adorable—like this version of The Exorcist starring a very talented Tabby cat named Bean. This kitty’s commitment to the role has the internet both laughing and slightly alarmed, proving that you don’t need special effects when you’ve got a very talented cat as your lead actor.

The hysterical clip was shared on TikTok by @beancat123, and it never ceases to amaze me how creative so many pet parents are. People in the comments may even like this movie better than the OG version, and one person said, “This is the absolute best version of ‘The Exorcist’ ever.”

Another comment read, “The power of meow compels you!” Someone else added, “Special effects on point.” “This is a masterpiece,” another fan replied. “Best scary movie ever.”

Now, listen, this is pretty fantastic, and I do appreciate the head-spinning, but if you want to see even more spooky perfection, check out this version of the same account made of John Carpenter’s iconic scary movie from 1978, Halloween.

And here’s another clip of Bean looking a lot less scary but still very seasonal and festive. Cutest little pumpkin ever.

I don’t know about you, but this is seriously inspiring me to go all out this Spooky Season. If Bean the Tabby can pull off a full-blown The Exorcist performance, then surely my own kitties can handle a little Halloween drama. I’m already picturing Meatball as a menacing vampire, Tarkus as a tiny pumpkin, and Elvis as the unimpressed ghost who refuses to participate but still steals the show. Maybe I’ll even stage our own low-budget horror remake, complete with treats, catnip, and plenty of spoooookiness!
