A new chapter in Kansas City’s sports scene is about to open just in time for the global spotlight of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.The Dub KC, downtown’s first women’s sports bar, will open in the coming weeks. Owners say they’re preparing for the international crowds expected when World Cup matches come to Kansas City next summer.“Truly we get to show the world Kansas City, and we get to highlight all the really cool stuff that Kansas City’s doing, including a women’s sports bar,” said co-founder and co-owner Rachel Glen.The Dub KC plans to showcase women’s sports that often get overlooked in traditional sports bars. From professional soccer to college athletics, the goal is to give women’s sports equal visibility.“It’s not about men or women in general. It’s just to level the playing field,” Glen said. “And really, this space is a space to feel safe.
