STANDISH – On Sunday, Oct. 12 at 2 p.m., Mary Sue Wilkinson & Mark Schrock will be the featured duo at the Northeast Art Center in Standish for the 2025-26 Second Sunday Concert series season opener. The art center is located at the corner of Grove Street Road and US-23, one-half mile north of the Standish traffic light.

Wilkinson and Schrock began making music together with the founding of Iowa Rose in 1978 — the popular Michigan roots quartet that subsequently disbanded in later years. After pursuing their love of performing music on different paths, they recently reunited as a duo. Wilkinson and Schrock each have their own distinct style, but their sound is bound by their common love of classic country, blues, bluegrass, swing, pop and folk music that invites people in and lifts them up. Audiences love their trademark vibrant harmonies, supported by guitars and mandolin in a collection of traditional and original Americana flavored songs.

After decades in the Michigan musical community, in addition to their work together, Wilkinson and Schrock have appeared with numerous collaborators, recorded many albums, appeared on national television and traveled throughout North America. This extensive work has added depth and dimension to the artists they have become today.

There is an admission charge for this performance. Tickets will be available when the box office opens at 1:30 p.m., the day of the performance. For additional information, contact the Art Center at 989-846-9331 or visit their website at nemiac.org.
