Week 6 kicks off on Thursday Night Football when an NFC East rivalry is renewed with the Philadelphia Eagles taking on the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Philly comes in after losing its first game of the season in Week 5, looking to bounce back against the 1-4 Giants. It’s a battle between first and last place within the division, but anything can happen when two NFC East foes take the field.

Philadelphia enters Week 6 looking to rebound from a tough Week 5 loss to the Denver Broncos at home. The Eagles were one of the last two undefeated teams until last week, and they will look to get back on track and assert their NFC dominance over the Giants in Week 6. All-Pro running back Saquon Barkley was added to the injury report on Monday with soreness, but after logging a full practice on Wednesday, he’s good to go for “Thursday Night Football,” and does not have an injury designation for the game.

So far this season, Barkley and the Eagles offense haven’t looked quite the same as during their Super Bowl run last season. Through five games, Barkley has rushed for just 267 yards in 2025, while last year he’d already rushed for 482 yards through the first five games. Philly needs to find that offensive balance again, and the Giants might just be the right opponent to do so against.

After upsetting the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4, the Giants laid an egg in New Orleans, falling to the previously winless Saints, 26-14, in the team’s first game without star wide receiver Malik Nabers, who is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL.

Quarterback Jaxson Dart completed 26 of 40 pass attempts for 202 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions in his second career start. Running back Cam Skattebo contributed 59 yards rushing, along with six catches for 45 yards, starting in place of the injured Tyrone Tracy Jr., who will return in Week 6

The Giants were just three of 10 on third down, but did convert three out of five fourth down opportunities. However, the five turnovers committed by the Giants ultimately kept them playing catch-up in Week 5. If the Giants hope to beat the Eagles in Week 6, they’ll need to take advantage of every opportunity this week and put some points on the board. They’ve been held to 14 or fewer points in three out of five games this season.
