Meet Marceline, whose mom calls her “Marcieline the Ballerina Dog.” She wears a tutu and loves watching ballet performances on TV, as you’ll see in this cute video shared on TikTok at the end of September.

Not only does Marceline enjoy listening to the music and watching the dancers twirl around the screen, but she also enjoys dancing and putting on a performance of her own!

Marceline really loves to watch ballet, and it’s so cute how she dances along with the other ballerinas!

Her mom shared more about the ballet in the video’s caption. The performance is the
Dance of the Wilis – Giselle by The Royal Ballet. It was performed by Itzar Mendizabal as Myrtha, Queen of the Wilis, with music credits to Adolphe Adam and choreography by Peter Wright.

She also shared a fun fact about Marceline: “Her favorite food is a cooked egg served with fresh tomato on top of kibble!” We love how Mom is explaining the ballet and introducing us to her ballet-loving dog!

Did you know that most pups enjoy listening to music, but they actually have favorite genres, too? According to research by psychologist Deborah Wells of Queen’s University in Belfast, shared by the American Kennel Club, dogs living in shelters reacted differently, depending on the type of music being played.

Dogs listening to pop music didn’t seem to care about it one way or the other. When they played heavy metal tunes, the pooches quickly started barking and showing signs of agitation. Classical music was the crowd favorite and seemed to have a calming effect.

“It is well established that music can influence our moods,” Wells summarized. “Classical music, for example, can help to reduce levels of stress, whilst grunge music can promote hostility, sadness, tension, and fatigue.”

Did you know that Spotify has a playlist just for dogs? I played it for my pup, and she seemed to like it! You can check it out here.
