The 0-7 New York Jets are looking to make a change to their roster this season. With Justin Fields likely heading for the bench in favor of Tyrod Taylor, a few other changes could be coming for the Jets this Fall.
With the trade deadline coming up in just two weeks, a lot of rumors are beginning to pick up steam. For the Jets, a likely selling team this deadline, there are a few players worth monitoring.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, there are six Jets players, from young stars to veteran players, who are being mentioned in trade talks with two weeks to go until the deadline.
Who are the six Jets players linked to trade rumors this season
“Teams are keeping an eye on the Jets ahead of the trade deadline,” Schultz reports, “names being mentioned include Breece Hall, Quincy Williams, Jermaine Johnson II, Will McDonald IV, Michael Carter II, and Allen Lazard, among others, per sources.”
While there are potentially other players who could be on the move this deadline, these six players are viewed as the most likely to be dealt in the coming weeks.
Out of the six players Schultz mentioned, Hall is one of the more likely players who could be on the move. He’s in the final year of his contract, and the Jets might look elsewhere for a running back as opposed to extending him.
Trading him for any return would be better than letting him walk. Add in that Isaiah Davis is his backup, a player the Jets are interested in, and moving Hall makes a lot of sense.

Carter is another likely trade chip, as teams need cornerback depth, and the veteran, who’s signed for a few more years, could be a solid trade target for a team eyeing a longer-term answer to their cornerback woes.
Lazard isn’t the biggest name here, but he’d be a very reasonable player to acquire for a team in need of wide receiver help. Meanwhile, both McDonald and Johnson being traded would be more unlikely, since pass rushers aren’t easily traded for in the NFL.
Williams is another fascinating one, as an off-ball linebacker could draw some interest, especially for a team like the San Francisco 49ers, who lost Fred Warner for the year.
Aaron Glenn has a vision in mind, and he has the trust of ownership. If he deems a player worth trading away, the Jets might be more willing to move said player, even if, traditionally, trading them wouldn’t make the most sense.
Regardless of who the Jets end up trading, if anyone at all, these six players are the ones most likely to be traded based on Schultz’s report.
