We consume so much media during the day, it’s easy for us to forget what’s going on when it’s no longer in our feed. We watch reels, YouTube videos, movies, and forget them when we stop talking about them. I personally am not a big fan of documentaries unless they are done well, unbiased, and make you really think, and this is exactly what this one did.

Produced by Colby Barrett, with executive producers Steven Moore and Anna Shvetsova, A Faith Under Siege takes viewers to one of the most urgent and overlooked battlefields of the war in Ukraine—the fight for the survival of the Church. In Russian-occupied regions, Evangelical and Protestant believers are facing a systematic campaign to silence their faith.

Churches have been raided, seized, or destroyed. Pastors have been tortured. Children have been stolen. Through powerful first-hand testimonies, A Faith Under Siege uncovers the harrowing experiences Ukrainian pastors, families, and children have faced under Russian occupation and how their faith has kept them going against all odds.

By the end of this documentary series, I felt as if a light was shown on me that revealed how neutral and calloused I had grown to the fact that war isn’t my concern unless it’s in my country.

It reminded me that we are called to pray for our brothers and sisters – political alliances put aside because war is terrible. It’s easy to comment and keep scrolling, but consider this next time you see something about war and you are in your feelings. Prayer is one of the most powerful things God gives us; life and death are in the power of the tongue, and we serve a mighty God who can save.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. – Matthew 5:10-12

“We are incredibly grateful that the A Faith Under Siege series is available exclusively on Angel,” said producer Colby Barrett. “Witnessing how Christians in Ukraine have held firm through torture, drone attacks, and even the abduction of their children by invading Russian forces has deepened my own faith. I’m thrilled that Angel will provide a platform where their testimony can inspire believers across the country and illuminate their extraordinary resilience, courage, and faith.”
