ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -The strike between Boeing and its machinist union workers continued into its 11th week, with the union now accusing Boeing of not working in good faith.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers announced Thursday it had filed an unfair labor practice charge with the National Labor Relations Board.

The Union accused Boeing of “stonewalling” talks, pointing to the company’s stance that the economics of its offer will not change, while negotiations have been few and far between.

In a statement on its website, Boeing called the move a “publicity stunt.”

“We’re surprised by the union’s latest publicity stunt, especially since the parties have been engaged for several weeks with the help of a federal mediator. There is nothing unfair about growing wages by 45% on average to $109,000 a year through our landmark contract offer for Midwest manufacturing,” Boeing posted online Thursday.

“These men and women have decades of skill, experience, and dedication,” said IAM Union Midwest Territory General Vice President Sam Cicinelli. “Boeing’s CEO is paid tens of millions of dollars, while the workers who build our military jets are being told to settle for less than they deserve. That’s unacceptable — and people on both sides of the aisle in Congress are taking notice. Lawmakers from both parties have called on Boeing to negotiate in good faith, because this strike and the company’s refusal to bargain are hurting our national defense.”

It is unclear when negotiations could resume between the two sides, with Thursday’s development putting yet another wedge between the two.
