The Salisbury Christian Church marked a significant milestone, celebrating 150 years of faith and community. After more than a year of planning, the church held a special event attended by over 100 people who gathered to reflect on generations of worship. The celebration featured music, food, speakers, and historical artifacts from the church’s early days.

Pastor Nathaniel Kern expressed the significance of the event, saying, “It means the world to us to be able to come together and celebrate what God has done here in Salisbury.” The church prides itself on being intergenerational, with Kern noting, “But all you need to do is ask family members about who was where at what time. Because inevitably if you come to Salisbury you’ll find out that you’re probably related to somebody.”

Missy Meyers and Jeff Knowles shared their family’s deep connection to the church, as their great-grandparents founded it and lived next door. Knowles remarked, “And like our family members, you know, was here since the very beginning. And it’s just awesome to see that after 150 years the church still is going, how important it is for this community and our local congregation to continue growing and going and moving on.”

Church leaders expressed hope that the next 150 years will bring even more faith and community to Salisbury.
