BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Hundreds of young students filled the stands at Merrill Green Stadium Wednesday night for Fields of Faith. This annual event encourages ministry among young athletes while welcoming participants from all backgrounds.

The October 8th gathering marked the global day for Fields of Faith, with similar events taking place worldwide. The night featured worship, ministry, and encouragement for teenagers in the Bryan-College Station area.

“Today, October 8th, is the global day for fields of faith. In theory, all over the world, fields of faith is taking place,” organizers announced during the event.

Youth leaders emphasized the importance of teenagers seeing their peers share their faith openly. Rebekah Bledsoe, a youth leader with Central Church, said the community aspect provides crucial support for young people.

“Life is hard to live alone, and we weren’t designed to live alon,e and so events like this, you just see how many people are around you and you get to kind of lean on to that,” Bledsoe said. “You’re encouraged by seeing others pursue Jesus and the strength in numbers is so true. Especially in Christianity. There’s strength in having friends with the same values, same morals.”

Seth Chambliss, area director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, noted that many attendees came directly from sports practice, highlighting the event’s appeal to young athletes.

“Ideally, for us, it’s two-fold. It’s to bring the communities together and to certainly encourage the youth,” Chambliss said. “It’s like Coach Thiebaud said, to just be in God’s word and just be the next generation to influence those around him.”

Fields of Faith takes place annually on the second Wednesday of October. Over the past 20 years, it has grown into a worldwide event for young Christians, connecting communities across the globe through shared faith and fellowship.
