WESTON, Wis. (WSAW) – Covered in skeletons, ghosts, and clowns, a yard in Weston looks to serve scares and the community.

For 10 years, Wyatt Parola has created holiday displays outside his house. At just 8-years-old, Parola loved to decorate. Ever since, he’s tried to top his previous year’s decorations.

“Since I was younger, I grew up, and I liked to decorate so I just started to get bigger and bigger every year with stuff,” Parola said.

Halloween is his biggest display with over 60 boxes and bins of decorations. It takes him months to get all the decorations up and running.

He invites community members to his chilling and thrilling display each year.

“You don’t know what’s coming around the corner, something might jump out at you and something might not,” Parola said.

Last year, he started collecting food items for local community centers during walk-throughs. He donated over 640 items.

“Someone asked me what I thought about it and I thought it was a good idea,” Parola said. “It’s helping out the people that are in need.”

This year, he hopes to donate 1,200 items to Blessings in a Backpack and The Neighbor’s Place. Specific items to bring include soup, cereal, and ramen.

“Bring as many as you want,” Parola said. “You don’t have to bring a can to walk through but I recommend you do.”

Food items can be dropped off at the bin outside of the house all of October. They can also be collected during walk-throughs.

The community is invited to ‘Carn Evil’ on October 10, 18, and 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. It will be open Halloween night from 4 to 10 p.m.

The Halloween display is located at 2106 Bloedel Ave. in Weston.
